1 in 4 people are effected by mental health in any year. This means that if you go out for dinner with three friends, one of you is likely to have a mental health issue.
35-50% of people with mental health problems don’t get help. Only 14% don’t know somebody with a mental illness.
Every year, more than 800,000 people die from suicide. Thats one every 40 seconds.

Mental Health can be defined as a persons condition regarding their psychological and emotional well being. It affects how we think, feel and act, and is also a huge determiner in how we handle stress, make choices and relate to others.

If you wanted to learn about the mechanism behind Steve Jobs’ Reality distortion field you could read a number of books: ‘The Secret’ or ‘the power of your subconscious mind’, some books on NLP or auto-suggestion. Alternatively, you can just sit and watch this video and learn how to implement these ideas and techniques to distort your own reality and move towards something which currently seems highly unlikely.
Steve Jobs had charisma and an indomitable will, as well as the eagerness to bend any fact to suit the job at hand. I share an interesting story in the Vlog about a story when Jobs went to find someone to produce the glass for the iPhone and iPad and how he used his reality distortion field to get that deal done, and ahead of schedule to boot.
We have seen the reality distortion field at work very often if we are fans of the Star Wars franchise, this Jedi mind trick is a staple tool of the Jedi Masters. I share an example of this to further illustrate how powerful this tool is in the Vlog.
So what can we learn from Steve Jobs’ reality distortion field to bring into our own lives? We need to cultivate two things; our inner Steve jobs, and a mind as sharp as a Jedi Master. We need to stay focussed and motivated towards our goals by concentrating on the big picture and not the miniature, tiny details that don’t have too much impact on reality.
By expecting greatness, we can achieve greatness.
To innovate our lives we need to generate our own reality distortion field and create the reality that we want to experience. This way, we can manipulate our life to conform with the dreams that we have always had, and can finally make them a REALITY!!

In this episode I speak with my good friend Priya who got in contact with me to talk about retreats. We opened up a dialogue to discuss all things related to retreats and she decided to take the plunge and book one.
Here we speak about what caused her to make contact in the beginning and what encouraged her to finally book up her first retreat and the location of the retreat. As well as what she is hoping to take away from it, looking forward too and worried about.
You will find encouragement and inspiration in Priya’s courage to take a leap of faith and move into the unknown. We all want more for ourselves and our relative well-being, but rarely do we take action and move towards a better life. Priya is doing just that. Taking a positive step towards taking care of herself, self-development and self-love, something we could all do with more of in our day to day lives.
We will follow up on this episode with Priya’s experience of the retreat. What was it like? How was the silence and new environment? Has it helped? I am really excited to hear about her upcoming retreat and what lessons she learns from it!

Time is our most important and most precious commodity. Its the one thing that you can never get back. We should ask ourselves on a daily basis; whats important to me, where do my priorities lie, what am I going to make time for?
Mahatma Gandhi said; ‘our action expresses priority’. What we act out and make time for is a clear sign of whats important to us. If we are constantly saying that we will do something, but never get round to doing it, then it is clearly not as important as we think it is!
Even the development of our language has formed a metaphor in describing our relationship with time. How do we SPEND TIME? To spend time as we would spend our money. Its important to spend it wisely and not throw it away.

Control of our mind is one of the most challenging and rewarding of human tasks. Mahatma Gandhi once said, ‘undertaking this kind of training requires the patience of someone trying to empty the sea with a teacup’.
When we start down the road of self-development. When we change ourselves, we have already begun to change the world.
